Our community as humans is about to fall apart. In a lot of countries there are difficult situations for example war or climate change. People have to fight for survival every day. We wanted to clarify and show everyone what our humanity has destroyed. Therefore, we made a short film about war and we focused on its consequences, things like forest fires, pollution, mines in fields and a lot more. We hope we can change some views with this film. Please stop destroying our planet.

Film 19 – Mosman High School, Australia – Time to be Hope

Languages: Turkish, Italian, French, German, Filipino, Ukrainian, Polish and English

This year, my friends and I have been studying “Disaster resilience education (DRE)” learning about natural hazards in the local environment and ways to keep communities safe from harm before, during and after an emergency or disaster as an extracurricular activity. In that respect, we created a disaster relief promotion video for the survivors of southeast Türkiye and northwest Syria’s earthquakes. One of many qualities we are sharing with our friends is that we are multilingual. Most of us speak our mother tongue, learn English as a second language and another foreign language. Our video consists of a Turkish poem that we wrote and translated in as many languages as we speak. Although we experienced emotional moments during the studies of devastating effects of the earthquakes, it felt hugely empowering to take part in this as students from different parts of the world. As part of the fundraising campaign, we started at our school, this film’s main objective is to create awareness and promote disaster relief.

The manager of the store talks to her about littering and how it affects our planet. When she goes home she researches and learns all about it.

Film 22 – Peace School, UK – Our Planet, 2023

Languages: Arabic and English

The purpose of this film is to inform the world of the effect we have on ‘Our planet’ and that there are 2 paths that we as a community can take to either better our world or destroy our world. Within this film we show two types of perspectives of how the world is portrayed: firstly the human’s perspective, and then from the perspective of a bottle’s life cycle. We want people to reflect on the action they are currently taking and understand that this all affects and damages our planet, whilst also providing insights on actions we can take as a community and individuals. Enjoy!
