And it also encourages us to share and let the light shine through to others. Meanwhile, there is always something we can do to bring more hope to the community no matter our age.
Film 22 – 3Ls Creative Centre, Australia – How To Care For Our Parents & Grandparents

Each student will share their role in caring for both parents and grandparents, reflecting cultural values that prioritize respect, support, and gratitude towards those who have nurtured us. This viewpoint, rooted in religious teachings, emphasises the importance of extending kindness not only to family but to all individuals in our communities. Our aim is to educate our students with these principles, guiding them to excel in Arabic language proficiency and lead enriched lives with strong roots and compassionate hearts.

Dory, a close friend of her grandmother, dies after her illness. She feels isolated and lonely, longing for the love her father and grandma gave her. Dory volunteers in a nursing home, initially shy but eventually becoming closer to Victoria, one of her grandmothers. They become close, and Dory realizes that her family can be chosen and isn’t always blood-related. She continues volunteering and feels love from her nursing home community, continuing to volunteer for the rest of her life.

In this touching story, a group of different-minded friends find a mysterious book of poems that allows them to travel into tales of care, hope, and community. They pick up important lessons about empathy and connection as they see other people doing acts of kindness, such as helping the elderly and providing support for injured warriors. The companions are enlightened and transformed by the end of the journey, which results in a thriving community where these principles flourish. Through a blend of realism and moving scenes, the film demonstrates how simple deeds of kindness can spark a wave of hope and form strong, supportive communities.
Film 25 – St George College, Adelaide, Australia – Our Greek Community: Exploring Community, Care and Hope

We created a short film for the multicultural film festival in London, which explores the topics of community, care and hope within our Greek Orthodox College and the broader Greek community in Adelaide. During the creation of the movie, multiple people were interviewed including reverent Father Diogenis, first teacher Miss Drakopoulos, an old scholar of the school Zoe Papafilopoulou, and George Diakomichalis the owner of well-known Kalymnos Pastries. Interviews were conducted with students involved in the filmmaking, and original responses have been untouched, all with English subtitles.
