Summer School Digital Stories 2024

Film 1 – My Serendipitous Journey – Jenny, Julianne, Rick

Our journey in London starts with excitement and expectations, intertwined with unexpected bumps and surprises but ended with serendipity to imprint the memories along the way. Based on our adapted version of “The Road Not Taken, ” this video attempts to record the inner change of us and present our critical connection with our learning in Goldsmiths by digital storytelling.

Film 2 – The Journey to the East – From underground to overground – Laura, Tim, James

The film chronicles an extraordinary learning journey from Taiwan to London, spanning from Bloomsbury to Goldsmiths, and from “Underground to “Overground”. At the outset (like staying in the underground), we faced numerous challenges—jet lag, culture shock, and more. However, as the journey progressed, the workshop lectures, visits to the museums as well as the British culture rejuvenated and inspired us. We trust we’ve elevated ourselves to the next level (just like moving from underground to overground).

Film 3 – The Doors to Reflections – Jenna, Peggy, Cindy

“The Door to Reflections” follows Taiwanese teachers in 2024 as they journey to London for a summer course at Goldsmiths. Striking English landscapes, cultural shocks, and creative projects illuminate their growth. The door symbolizes opportunity, with opening it representing the crucial decisions we all must make.

Film 4 – Observe, Understand & Appreciate – Joanne, Shih Chi, Debby

The film is about the things we observed in London. We compare how they are different from our experiences, and offer what we’ve learned along the journey.

Film 5 – Our Journey of … – Jeff Feng, Joyce Chen, Vivian Lin

In this short film, we shared our motivation to participate in this program, the classes we attended, and our own exploration of the UK. This learning journey inspired us to explore our potential, deepening our self-understanding and expanding our knowledge. As we conclude this journey, we are excited to bring the insights we’ve gained back to our own classrooms.
