Online Film Screening 2024
The young filmmakers have explored the theme of ‘Care, Community and Hope’ in
imaginative, critical, and radical ways. These films tell vibrant multilingual stories
about actions that matter and how children and young people are finding ways to
resolve conflicts, find hope, and form strong bonds and friendships. The festival
shares the stories these young filmmakers have told about their local and global
communities and their futures.
There are 20 languages included across the 30 digital stories exhibited at the
online film screening. Lead educators have worked with young participants (5 – 18
years old) across 20 educational institutions (pre-school, primary, secondary,
community-based complementary, and university) and 8 countries (Australia,
Cyprus, India, Italy, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, and US). There are short, pre-recorded
introductions or slides before each film.

Philip Kapadia is a London-based independent film editor whose work on short films and documentaries has received international film festival recognition. With a background in music, he focuses on projects with a musical theme, including multi-camera performance videos, documentaries, and music videos. As a systems engineer at Avid Technology, Philip supports high-profile projects across newsroom and post-production environments. On the back of that, he freelances as a film editor and technical specialist, working on anything from feature-length documentaries to short films. Philip is proficient in colour grading, finishing/mastering, digital intermediate, film restoration, and sound design but specialises in offline/craft film editing and post-production engineering.
