We are a popular, two-form entry community school located at the heart of the Canterbury Housing estate in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Canterbury has a diverse population; 78% of our learners are from ethnic minority groups and we have over 27 different ‘first languages’. Some of the languages our children speak are Mirpuri Punjabi, Urdu, French, Hindko, Kurdish, Polish, Latvian and Slovak.
We have twelve age group based classes, for learners aged between four and eleven. We are motivated and enthusiastic, they concentrate and achieve well by taking responsibility for themselves, their learning and their environment. Our staff team work hard to ensure that all children make rapid progress.
In 2012, Ofsted stated, ‘This is a good school that integrates well with the community it serves. It is an inclusive school where all are respected, differences appreciated and diversity is embraced’.
We work together to provide every child with a brilliant start to their school life. Our dedicated and hard-working staff are very proud of Horton Park and the community we work with.
